Which law covers your product?
Before choosing standards, confirm that your product falls under the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, or in Great Britain the Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2016. They cover equipment that can cause electromagnetic disturbance or be affected by it. Some product types come under other legislation instead, and components and installations are treated differently from finished products.
Describe your product
These answers decide which standards apply, which limits you must meet, and which tests appear in your plan.
Applicable standards
Your route to presumption of conformity, based on the answers in steps 1 and 2.
Emission tests and limit lines
Each limit is drawn on a receiver-style display. Move the pointer across a display to read the limit at any frequency.
Immunity tests and severity levels
The test levels and the performance criterion your product must meet at each port.
Test plan and progress
Every test from steps 4 and 5 in one list. Record status as you pre-scan and test; it is saved with your project.
Technical construction file
The technical documentation required by Article 14 and Annex II of the EMC Directive (Regulation 37 and Schedule 3 of the GB Regulations). Work through the route, then tick off each item as you add it to the file.
Declaration of Conformity
Fill in the details to generate a declaration in the Annex IV layout. Standards are pre-filled from your analysis; add the dated edition of each.
