There are some big changes to the emissions standards, products that were tested to EN55013, EN55022 or EN55103-1 must meet the requirements of EN55032:2015
Now BS EN55032:2015 is not in the OJ yet, this is due to a court case on an LVD standard, the OJ has stalled and all LVD and EMC standards are having there Annex ZZ’s modified in a big way.
According to the foreword in BS EN 55032:2015, the 2015 version supersedes BS EN 55032:2012 (which will be withdrawn on 5 May 2018).
It has been advised to use the latest version of a harmonised EMC standard, even though it has not yet been published in the OJEU because of the delays caused by the Annex ZZs.
EN55032:2012 has been published in the Official Journal and may now be used for CE declaration of conformity. This standard replaces several other product standards. The three product standards that are being replaced are:
EN55013 – Sound and television broadcast receivers and associated equipment
EN55022 – Information technology equipment
EN55103-1 Electromagnetic compatibility – product family standard for audio, video, audio-video and entertainment lighting apparatus for professional use – part 1: Emissions.
On the 5th March 2017 the above three standards will cease to give presumption of conformity, this means that products sold after this date should be tested to BS EN5032:2015. Testing is slightly different from the above standards to the new BS EN55032:2015, these are listed below.
Countries already accepting this new standard are
Australia and New Zealand (AS/NZS 55032:2012)
Korea (KN32) accepts the test method but requires that the test distance is 10m
Countries that that have not accepted CISPR 32 and still using same emission standards are :
- Japan
- Taiwan
- US
- Canada
New immunity will be coming at some point.
