A Dipole Antenna Length Calculator is a calculator that estimates how long each side of a dipole antenna should be so that it can efficiently transmit or receive radio signals at a specific frequency. By entering the operating frequency, the calculator provides the total antenna length and the length of each arm, making antenna design faster and more accurate.
For a standard half-wave dipole, the commonly used formula is:
Total length (meters) = 143 ÷ Frequency (MHz)
Length of each side (meters) = 71.5 ÷ Frequency (MHz)
For example, if the operating frequency is 100 MHz:
Total dipole length = 143 ÷ 100 = 1.43 meters
Each arm length = 1.43 ÷ 2 = 0.715 meters
This calculator is widely used by amateur radio operators, electronics engineers, and communication enthusiasts to build antennas that perform efficiently at the desired frequency.
